Notice of Security Breach, Potential Personal Information Leak, and Fraudulent Messages Leading to Phishing Sites

We recently discovered a compromise to some of our guests’ data as a result of unauthorized access by a malicious third party to our booking information management system provided by Booking.com. Additionally, we were able to confirm that malicious messages were sent to guests directing them to phishing sites.

We also want to be as transparent as possible without compromising our security systems or the steps we’re taking. Below, we share what happened, what information was involved, what we’re doing next.

Timeline of the Incident:

On June 10, 2023, following a report from Booking.com, we conducted an investigation that revealed unauthorized access to our management system. There is a possibility that personal information of some guests stored in the management system may have been accessed by third parties.

Some guests who made reservations through Booking.com received messages containing QR codes leading to phishing sites through the chat function of the management system.

If you receive such messages, do not access the provided QR codes or enter any credit card information.

As of 13:20 (this June 10, 2023), no leakage of personal information of guests who made reservations through other booking management systems other than  Booking.com has been confirmed.

Details of the Incident:
